Electric boat propulsion

Kräutler propulsion planned around the vessel, cruising profile and energy system.

UnLucky supports technical planning, compatibility review and integration of Kräutler electric propulsion for refits and new projects. Selection starts with hull, displacement, duty cycle and available energy—not a motor model.

Propulsion system

The motor is only one part of the system.

Battery, controls, charging, protection, cooling, mechanical integration and expected range must be aligned before final selection.

The status is strictly “We support”. This page does not present UnLucky as an authorised Kräutler representative or distributor.

Solutions for different vessel concepts

Five propulsion categories, one essential step: verify the real application.

Kräutler offers several electric and hybrid propulsion formats. These categories guide the inquiry; the final configuration is always checked against the current manufacturer catalogue and vessel data.

01

Pod and underwater drives

A compact propulsion unit below the hull can preserve space on board. Hull structure, mounting position, protection, service access and controls must be reviewed.

02

Outboard drives

Electric outboards suit projects where access, transom mounting and motor removal matter. Transom structure and the operating profile still require verification.

03

Sail-drive systems

A solution for sailing yachts and hulls designed around sail-drive geometry. Selection depends on the existing opening, load transfer, propeller and available space.

04

Shaft-drive systems

An electric motor connected to a conventional shaft line may suit refit and new-build projects. Reduction, alignment, propeller and supporting structure are reviewed.

05

Hybrid propulsion

Electric propulsion combined with another energy source for projects needing greater operational flexibility. Energy management and operating modes are designed together.

UnLucky technical process

From vessel requirements to a verifiable propulsion configuration.

The first review does not promise power or range without data. It identifies constraints early and establishes a technically sound direction.

  1. 01

    Vessel profile

Hull type, length, displacement, draft, existing propulsion, propeller and available space.

  2. 02

    Operating profile

Target speed, normal daily routes, run time, safety reserve and charging opportunities.

  3. 03

    Energy architecture

Voltage, battery bank, protection, chargers, shore power, solar, generator and monitoring.

  4. 04

    Mechanical integration

Foundations, shaft or hull penetration, alignment, cooling, controls, cabling and service access.

  5. 05

    Current configuration

The final motor, controls and related components are confirmed against valid Kräutler data at quotation time.

Prepare the inquiry

Good input data makes the technical assessment faster.

If labels or specifications are unavailable, send photos. There is no need to guess the motor model in advance.

  • Basic vessel details and project location
  • Photos of the current motor, machinery space, shaft or transom
  • Displacement and expected speed or cruising pattern
  • Existing battery, voltage and available charging sources
  • Fully electric, hybrid or still-open propulsion concept

Kräutler technical inquiry
